What to Expect

Online courses at UTTC are flexible, but they are not self-paced. Students are expected to participate regularly, keep up with coursework, and meet assignment deadlines.

Technology Requirements

To be successful in online courses, students should have reliable access to the technology needed for college coursework.

While phones and tablets can be helpful, they may not support all course activities.

Are online classes easier?

No. Online courses cover the same college-level material and require the same commitment and academic effort as face-to-face courses.

What programs are available online?

UTTC currently offers the following degree programs fully online:

  • Criminal Justice, A.S.
  • Criminal Justice, B.S.
  • General Studies, A.S.
  • Elementary Education, A.S.

Can I complete coursework whenever I want?

Online courses offer flexibility, but assignments, discussions, and exams still have deadlines that must be met.

Do online classes have live meetings?

Some online courses include required Zoom sessions or other scheduled activities. Course expectations vary by instructor and program.

Can I take online classes and live on campus?

Generally, no. Students must be taking classes in person on campus to be eligible for student housing. However, exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis.
