Description

Provide students with the skills to design, sample and understand the basics of statistical analysis involved in ecological research. Course will include activities, reading and discussions. Students will have instruction and practice in conducting scientific research using small demonstration projects. Student's will collect different types of data using a variety of ecological sampling methods. Students will get hands on experience with fish, aquatic and terrestrial plant sampling, water sampling, insects and small mammal trapping, large anaimal and bird census and other techniques. Examples and topics focusing on both North american and International native cultures. Prerequisites CSC 101, MTH103, BIO 150, BIO 151, CHM 121, ENG 110 AND MTH 210. (Fall)
