Description

The purpose of this course is to provide candidates with the foundation for understanding the assessment process for children in Pre-K-Grade 6 settings. Candidates will focus on the educational assessment methods and procedures used in decision making and program planning for students with exceptional learning needs and from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds. The course will also provide candidates with an understanding of the legal aspects of special education as it relates particularly to assessment and programming in special education, the relation of assessment to practice, and current critical issues related to special education assessment. (Prerequisites: EDU 205 & EDU 320) Summer
