Description
This course offers an examination of all aspects of the transition of secondary school-aged youth from educational to community-based environments. Included are the rationale for transitional programming, practices and procedures, interagency cooperation, school-based vocational preparation, and work-study activities. Emphasis is placed on the role of the special education teacher in the transitional process. Consideration of cultural diversity, particularly Native American, will be emphasized in the course content. (Fall)
