Description

This course provides a detailed study of HIM best practices relating to records management processes. Learners acquire the skills necessary to manage the numbering and filing systems, indices, record control, record retention, records management, and storage methods. Learners will also learn electronic systems, such as voice recognition, natural language processing, electronic record systems, information technology, and health information exchange networks and systems. HIM technology will be used to reinforce theory and practical knowledge. (Spring 2009)
