Description

This course offers a detailed study of the legal aspects of health care. The student will learn the principles of confidentiality, release of information practice standards, retention guidelines for health information, patients' rights and advocacy, the principles of legal decision-making and legal factors that impinge upon the health care delivery system. The student will apply legal concepts to the roles and responsibilities of the allied health professional, including codes of ethics. Campus based and On Line. (Spring)
