Description

This course will explore the historical and philosophical foundations of the care and schooling of young children, ages 0-8. An overview of various components of early childhood will be presented. Attention will be given to current practices and concerns regarding young children. Careers options in ECE will be explored and discussed. Personal characteristics suitable for the profession will be reviewed. Consideration of cultural diversity, particularly Native American, and special needs will be emphasized in the course content.
