    Welcome!

Welcome to ASC 090 Pre-Algebra I. My name is Lisa Cantlon and I am currently the General Studies Department Chair/Math Instructor at UTTC. I have been teaching at UTTC for the past 11 years. This course has two parts pre-algebra I and pre-algebra II. This course uses a web-based program called ALEKS (Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces). ALEKS helps students master course topics through a continuous cycle of mastery, knowledge retention, and positive feedback. Each student begins a new course with a unique set of knowledge and prerequisite gaps to fill. By determining the student's baseline of knowledge, ALEKS creates an individual and dynamic path to success where students learn and then master topics. The goal is to review and reinforce math skills to set you up for success in your future math courses.
