Description
This course is designed to be an introductory overview of rangeland management. The laboratory component, LAB 236, must be taken concurrently. Organized into three units by major subject category, it includes the basic topics and principles of plants and rangeland communities, rangeland suitability, grazing methods and capacity, revegetation, stock - water development, erosion control, burning, rodent control and inspection. A hands-on approach is central to the processes employed. Prerequisites are CSC 101, MTH 102, BIO 111, BIO 230, CHM 101, with a course grade of 'C' or better. One of these may be taken concurrently with permission of the instructor. (Fall)
