Description

The practicum in health provides summative field experience and serves as a capstone course in preparing students for job entry. Ideally the practicum will be taken at the conclusion of a four-semester course of study; however, in some instances this experience may be experienced earlier in the degree plan. The learners' experiential experience will include 30 hours in which to demonstrate ability to obtain health-related data about social and cultural environments, and needs and interests among selected communities, and basic understanding of community health theory. Prerequisites: Four semesters of community health program. (Summer following fourth semester or otherwise advised)
