Description
This course gives an overview of basic heating systems that have been used in homes where mild heating climates do not require a more sophisticated type of heating system. Unvented gas room heaters and solid fuel heating systems present their own set of health and safety problems that need to be addressed by the home energy auditor. The principle of operation and maintenance procedures need to be understood so recommendations can be made to the homeowner for safe and efficient operation of these tyupes of heating appliances. Venting of newer room heaters and solid fuel heating appliances utilize special venting system guidelines that must be understood by the energy auditor. (Fall, Spring)
