Description
This course will provide a procedural knowledge foundation for the work and responsibilities of an administrative medical assistant. Students will gain experience in understanding medical law and ethics, utilizing effective oral and written communication, and managing medical office procedures, including: appointment scheduling, patient reception and registration, medical records, medical billing, health insurance, business operations, human resource functions, and financial management. Students will also gain knowledge in locating and obtaining a position in a medical office. Student will learn to effectively utilize Word, Medisoft Medical Managment software, Internet, telophone, and e-mail. (Fall, Spring)
