Welcome

I am excited to be working with you in ASC 091 Pre-Algebra II. This is a unique learning opportunity to build on the math skills that you already have and prepare you for Introduction to Algebra. This classes uses one of the original AI programs, ALEKS, to help design an individualized program based on the knowledge you bring to the class. The class will be a combination of in-class activities and lessons with individual instruction through ALEKS. This class will prepare you for your future math classes.

ALEKS Sign Up Directions – ASC 091

  1. Open a web browser (Chrome or Firefox)
  2. Go to www.ALEKS.com

 

  1. Enter the 10 digit course code: MATRT-XW9FC click on the red continue

 

  1. Verify that the class is ASC 091 Pre-Algebra II and continue
  2. Scratch the silver bar on your class card and enter the code and continue
  3. Enter in your information including (name, password. Id) and continue
  4. Remember to put your name, login, email, and password on your card
  5. Work through the tutorial
  6. Start the knowledge check

    This course is designed for students who need a refresher prior to entering the required math courses for their degree. Topics include operations with integers and fractions, orders of operation, simplification and evaluation of expressions, and evaluation of one and two step linear equations. Study skills will be incorporated throughout the course. Credit earned does not count towards any degree, nor does it transfer.
    Prerequisite: ASC 090 or placement test
